For three days in early July, the historic streets of Dallas’ West End is transformed into a massive outdoor food, music and arts festival. State Fair of Texas/Cotton Bowl.

One of the most exciting events in Texas, the State Fair of Texas is held from late September through mid October at Fair Park in Dallas. The Fair features exciting musical entertainment, food pavilions, livestock competitions, a huge auto show, a creative arts competition, children’s events, a wine garden, a 5k race, lightshows, pig races, parades, and scores of exhibits, attractions and events. The Fair's Midway features exciting rides, games, shows, souvenirs, food-on-a-stick, the 212-foot Texas Star Ferris wheel and 1914 Dentzel carousel.
